Dr. Alexea is a highly sought after clinical expert and speaker. Beyond the exam room, she continues to use her passion for teaching to educate women in high risk communities about breast health. As a breast cancer educator and advocate she helps women of color understand their breast cancer risks and teaches them strategies to improve their long term health and well being through healthy lifestyle including dietary modification, exercise and physical fitness and healthy mindset. She achieves this with 1 on 1 and group coaching, community education and outreach.
Her recent honors and awards include Inaugural Induction into the Cherokee County (South Carolina) Hall of Success in November of 2017 in her home town of Gaffney, SC. She is also the recipient of the 2018 Women’s History Month Diamond Award for her commitment to Community education and service in her Native Brooklyn and Stony Brook Communities. The nomination describes her as “a woman of courage and strength”. she was a Silver Crowns Honoree for Community Service, Education and Outreach in May 2018. She was featured in the NY Post on May 29, 2018 highlighting her recent battle with breast cancer and shares about her story on healthgrades.com as well.
